Not a lot of News from LOF friends…so Connie & I who are celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary later this year – have already begun the ‘celebrations’….
We left the UK at the beginning of July and started our extended holiday in Vancouver, then onto Anchorage/Alaska for a 8 days land tour as far as Fairbanks and returning by Coach and Train via the Denali National Park.
On returning to Anchorage/Whittier we joined ‘Island Princess’ a beautiful ship in very good condition.
I had the opportunity to meet a number of the ships staff and was invited to have a ‘free long around’
(Passengers pay $150:00 for the honour) How life on-board has changed – naturally Cruise Ship life is somewhat different to our days in LOF.
On leaving in Vancouver we are now doing a self-drive of the Canadian Rockies/Jasper National Parks for 18 days…
So we missed the ‘Heat-wave’ in the UK – no problem we’ve had beautiful weather here – without fleas/flies or humidity.
