Just a reflection: When I first joined Counties as 3rd Mate, was welcomed aboard SUDBURY HILL by c/o Rodman Tarbuck who gave me very helpful and wise advice as to how to conduct myself which, at this late stage is still appreciated. I did not sail under him as he was, as I recall, about to join his first command.
(This would have been in 1960/Joining in the UK)
Will remember him on 15th, but he has never been forgotten.
Kind regards,
John Swift. (Lives in Australia)
