I am sorry to inform that Captain Tony Goldsmith passed away a couple of months ago.
I have only recently been informed as his wife is in a nursing home and his (2) children are also in a home.
I never sailed with Tony, but everyone spoke very highly of him, he had made his way up the ladder from being a ‘Deck Boy’
Luckily we had a good meet up of the ‘local’ Falmouth LOF boys back in 2008 and we had a good few hours of salty chit-chat.
