Well here’s a turn up for the books!
A chance encounter between Steve Millar, ex LOF Deck Cadet, and myself, ex LOF Jnr. Eng. in Cairnryan.
Steve has worked for Stenaline for the last 23 years and is now Senior Master on Stena Superfast VIII out of Cairnryan. I worked for Stenaline for 12 years and ended up as Chief Eng. on the Stena Britannica out of Harwich. We never knew we both worked there until about 6 years ago. I supposedly retired 5 years ago but am filling in on the Hebridean Princess as 2nd Eng. for a season.
We hadn’t met up for over 25 years. Our schedules allowed time for coffee, biscuits and a few salty yarns before we went our separate ways rejoicing.
