When we were putting together another visit to Genoa early last year (2020) to commemorate the 50th Anniversary
of the ‘London Valour’ incident, we tracked down most of the 2010 personnel who attended that event.
However I/we could not get hold of Robert (Bob) Kitchener by any means and assumed he had passed away.
I am grateful to Tim Brant who lives near me and is the Events & Welfare Officer of the Merchant Navy Association,
who informed me that Bob had passed away in February 2016.
Unfortuately no one informed me.
